" Joyfully Yours" is about a forgotten dream that was awakened after 20 years. It is also about re-igniting the passions that people have had in their hearts about their wedding days and special celebrations. Our special events are creative, fun, and life transforming.
My story began in the late '90's when I had a deep desire to be an event planner. I was always involved in planning events and programs, as well as creating gifts, while in school. Life happened and so did detours. My desire took a back seat while making a living in household services, a business that was passed down from my sister. It gave me an opportunity to learn how to serve others and build a business from the ground up. Just like most people who get consumed by daily living, the desire for event planning became just a fading wish, and soon was forgotten.
Many years later during Christmas season-known as a the season of giving, I experienced financial hardship and could not buy any gifts for my loved ones. It was a painful time. Yet, I knew something different was about to happen. After much prayer, and giving this heartache to God, a spark of HOPE came. Then with EXCITEMENT, an explosion of CREATIVITY! The result: a personal poem for my sister, a surprise cleaning and décor service for my mentors, and hours of decorating at church. They were appreciative and their hearts were touched! The gifts were exactly what these people needed. At the same time, I also experienced healing, restoration and discovered creativity that I did not know I had.
Money was not the issue; it was the lack of ideas! Giving is not just about buying things; it's about purposely meeting the needs of others through service, creating things and many other ways. It was a change in mindset and a change in heart. Life became more meaningful and I was never ever the same.
Soon after, requests for décor, centerpieces and bouquets for weddings came. My decision to seriously pursue weddings and events came after another life changing event, a blessing in disguise. The passion was definitely ignited! My interests expanded by taking classes and hands on training with a good friend-Julianne Santos, of JMarieWeddings.
In October of 2017, Joyfully Yours launched with "Beauty for Ashes," an inspirational event attended by several upcoming artists and a special speaker who shared her life story of turning the most difficult time of her life into a very meaningful season.
I believe that every wedding and event is unique, just like you are. The uniqueness of your day lies in how well we can bring to life what is truly in your heart to share with others. Its your time to shine! Share your story and let's connect!
